Are you suffering the winter blues?

For those of us who experience the cold and snow in the winter may also experience the winter blues. If you don't like the cold weather, you might not be as motivated to get ready to your usual 100% standard. Whether it is running to the store or even going to work, our look sometimes tends to suffer. For some of us during this period of doldrums, it is even more important that we pay more attention to our dress then ever!

Psychology puts it pretty simple; when you look better, you feel better. If you take the time to get excited about presenting yourself at your very best, you will release the endorphins needed to get you through the slushy roads and frigid temperatures.

Winter is also the time that our skin tends to get pale and we lose our vibrant skin glow that the natural sunlight offers. This doesn't mean that we have to accept this. They have many face tanning lotions that look natural and can be applied in the morning or at night time combined with your favorite skin care regimen. For ladies...bronzer, bronzer, and blush! Who says that bronzer is only for the summer? Of course, you want to make sure that it is not a dark bronzer that will have you looking orange, but select a color that is a hint or two darker than your skin tone and make sure to add some blush to the apples of your cheeks. Women might also notice that their lipstick or eyeshadow colors that looked so great on them in the summer, is washing them out this time of year. Winter is the time to be bold and use some stronger colors on the face.

Sometimes since we don't feel like getting ready, we think it is alright to start mixing and matching certain articles of clothing that have no business being paired together. It's almost as if we think the cold hides the fact that our colors don't match or our big bulky warm casual jacket can be worn with our professional work clothes. My favorite is our choice of winter boots or lack of them. I definitely fall into the trap of thinking that if I don't wear winter boots then it is not winter. I'm sure you have seen it, a man or woman dressed for work in their professional attire and their shoes all white with salt marks on them or their feet full of snow because their feet are only protected by their thigh high stockings in a pump.

So let's get into reality and instead of fighting this dreadful weather, let's celebrate the brightness that emits from the blanket of white snow that surrounds us. Let us arm ourselves with our favorite winter outfits paired with BOOTS and brighten our face with some color!
